FULL BIO

Greg Wymer has been a DJ since his college days in the ’80s. He helped re-launch his university’s radio station and acted as Program Director for its first two years, helping fund its operations by spinning large-scale campus dances.

His senior year, Greg appeared on the MTV game show “Remote Control” and won all the prizes, including a trip to the Bahamas, by naming all 9 videos in 30 seconds while stretched out on the show’s Craftmatic bed.

Returning home to Boston after graduation, Greg began DJing at bars and clubs around the city as well as hosting karaoke night for the tourists at the world-famous Bull & Finch Pub, the inspiration for the TV show “Cheers”.

Throughout the ’90s, Greg worked at Boston’s alternative rock station 101.7 WFNX, holding down a number of creative roles, including producing the morning drive show from 6:00-10:00 AM where he was known as “Wymer Daducer.”

Greg’s passion for DJing has found him behind the mixer from clubs on Lansdowne Street and downtown Boston to charity events and private parties all over New England. To this day, he’s a fan of any music with a catchy hook no matter the style or genre.

Nothing makes him happier than getting people smiling and moving and Greg believes his superpower is the “ability to read the dance floor” and keep the room jumping.

He was a member of the Mainstage cast of ImprovBoston for seven years (and sat on the Board of Directors for 15 more), so he is incredibly comfortable and confident acting as a host or MC for corporate events.

He launched his own bar trivia night called “Useless Trivia” in the 2000s, which he now offers as a great fundraising opportunity for charities with the option to include customized questions for your attendees.

Greg is an excellent DJ for nearly any function, but he truly excels in two specific areas: cover songs and retro 80s/90s parties.

He is the host of “Cover Lover” on Uncertain.FM, the online radio station run by TJ Connelly (DJ for the Bruins & Patriots, former DJ for the Red Sox). The Cover Lover format also makes for an engaging and fun time for customers at breweries or Sunday brunches or many other venues and events, with patrons hearing songs they know well but in versions and genres they may be hearing for the first time.

Greg’s retro 80s & 90s nights at bars and private parties are guaranteed to bring the energy. His brand new offering, 7” of Fun, is a truly unique retro night with Greg spinning nothing but his library of 45s from the dawn of rock ‘n’ roll through the 2000s.
